RPI NOIR is a Raspberry Pi camera module without IR filtering designed by US Raspberry Pi Foundation. It is suited for taking infrared photos or working in low-light environments. RPI NOIR can be directly connected to the CSI interface on Raspberry Pi. The latest v1.3 module is able to provide 5MP high-resolution images or 30fps 1080 video. The module has a 5MP (2592×1944 pixel) OminiVision 5647 fixed-focus sensor module which communicates with Raspberry Pi through a 15-pin MIPI CSI and a 15-pin flat ribbon cable. CSI bus is dedicatedly used to transmit pixel data to BCM2835 processor at an extremely high transfer rate.
